What can you say about ten years of support from a community full of some of the best people you could ever hope to meet? Where do you even start?
Well, I guess we could start with the obvious:
Thank You.
Thank you for supporting our little store for the past decade. Thank you for coming to our events and sharing our passion for games, comics, and everything nerdy. For putting together some seriously impressive costumes for our contests. For helping us run our events as volunteers or helping us move our store (three times!) or being in our goofy commercials. To say that it’s been fun would be an understatement.
For the last ten years we have had the pleasure of getting to know some truly remarkable people. We’ve watched neighborhood kids grow up, get married, and have children of their own. We’ve had customers that became friends and co-workers. We’ve seen people move away, then come back to visit years later to see how we were getting along.
You’ve shared your lives with us, and more than anything else, that means the world to us. Getting to know you has been an honor, and despite all of the ups and downs and challenges of running a small business, it’s always been the conversations about the latest Marvel movie or favorite Super Nintendo game, or speculation over the next Star Wars movie that has really made this all worthwhile.
That may sound sappy, but it’s the truth.
In many ways, the local comic shop has become a hub for social interactions in an increasingly isolated digital world, and we hope that Level Up has been that for you. We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this community since 2007 and we hope to be here for a long time to come.
