what is level up?
Level Up Entertainment was founded in 2007 by Gregg and Sean, two pop culture-obsessed local guys who set out to build the kind of neighborhood shop they always wanted to visit.
For almost two decades, Level Up was South Jersey's stop for video games, comic books, and toys, from retro consoles to new releases and fan favorites in between. The Hamilton Mall retail location closed in January 2025 after an eighteen-year run. These pages stay online as a public archive of the shop's announcements, events, and blog.
The store carried a wide selection of retro video games and systems including Atari, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PlayStation, Xbox, and more.
The shop also built a deep comic wall and offered pull-list service so regular readers could keep their shelves current without the hunt.
Staff hosted Free Comic Book Day, Retro Movie Night, Halloween Comic Fest, and other small and large-scale community events through the years.
