Image Comics Delayed Comics and No More Second Prints!

Image Comics: Delayed Comics and No More Second Prints!

Much of the comics industry is feeling the crunch of the global paper and cardboard shortage. Even Marvel and DC have announced some delays and shorts in their lines. Now, Image has announced that a few comics that were going to release this week (10/27/2021) will be delayed until November 3rd, 2021. Below is a full list of those titles:

  • Crossover #9

  • Good Asian #6

  • Primordial #2

  • Radiant Balck #9

  • Spawn #323

  • Two Moons #6

Image Comics also announced recently that it will no longer be printing second prints of its titles until further notice. For those who don’t know, second prints of a comic are a popular way to get issues of comics that initially sold out. Since stores have to order comics almost two whole months in advance, it’s nice to have a second printing to fall back on when a comic becomes more popular than expected on its lead-up to release. Now that they won’t be available, if a comic issue from Image Comics sells out, there will be no way to get that comic back in and you’ll have to wait for the graphic novel to read that issue. It’s big news on our end but also majorly impacts our customers as well. Click on the button below to read an article about the announcement on Gamesradar.com

This will mean that individual issues from Image Comics may be harder to find, but there are some steps you can take to prevent yourself from missing any issues:

  1. You can pre-order comics through our free subscription service, which you can sign up for at any time at either of our two locations!

  2. You can see what’s upcoming from Image by checking out Previews, which come out each month, outlining all the new titles coming from all the biggest independent publishers!

  3. You can wait for the graphic novel! Not everyone’s favorite option, as we all are impatient for our cool comics each week. However, don’t panic! You can read the whole story in the collected graphic novel which, on average, will come out another 6-8 months from the first issue.
